"British Humour"

British humour is a somewhat general term applied to certain comedic motifs that are often prevalent in comedic acts originating in Great Britain and its current or former colonies. Comedy acts and television programs typical of British humour include Monty Python, Benny Hill, and Keeping Up Appearances to name a few that have become quite popular outside of the British Isles. At times, however, such humour can seem puzzling to non-British speakers of English (references to English slang terms or people, who are unknown internationally for example) while certain Commonwealth nations (such as Australia, Canada and South Africa) tend to find it more familiar. Many UK comedy TV shows typical of British humour have been internationally popular, and have been a strong avenue for the export and representation of British culture to an international audience.

Something About the Red Sports Car

Images of the burning Ferrari F430 along South Luzon Expressway, which happened a few weeks ago, are all over the internet. A sports car bites the dust...literally.

Anyway, a friend said that this unfortunate event is somehow comparable to the famous Fita commercial.

Talk about the famous red sports car cut in half. Lol.

Chic Literature: Feminine, Funny and Fabulous!

I'm not really a bookworm but I do have the weakness for chic literature. Why not, it's funny, sometimes mushy and advocates girl power. Last year, I was informed about the Powerbooks Warehouse Sale in Pioneer, Mandaluyong and without any hesitation, we ditch work and rushed to the place. Boy, it was so fun rummaging through piles and boxes of best buy books! Would you believe that I was able to buy more or less 10 chic lits for only 1 grand (in php, of course)??! Take note, 2 or 3 of them are hardbound. But then, until now, I'm not yet through reading them all. Hehe! I'm such a slow reader - need to psych myself up first to stay focused and get to the zone, you know. And sadly, sometimes I just don't have the time.

I've read quite a few chic lits and here they are. My most favorite would be The Thing About Jane Spring. :)
